Family Play with Clay: Make an Owl!

Spend time together creating with clay in this relaxed, family-friendly workshop. After reading the story about owl babies participants will learn how to make their own slab owl or a family of owls.

This playful session is designed for all ages and focuses on process, connection, and creativity. $10 registration fee per person (includes storytime, snack + studio playtime)

$20 per pound of clay for creations (includes clay, glazes & 2 firings)

Creations will be fired and ready for you to return and glaze with your own unique color choices and designs in about 10 days. They will go back in the glaze kiln and will be ready about a week later!

Join Becky LaPadula in this step by step workshop as you learn the art of making your own transfers. Make a sheet of designs and learn to apply to a wet leather hard clay tile or your own pottery. No experience necessary. $35 includes all materials, glazing and firings. Please allow 2 weeks for the piece to be bisque fired. After which time you will need to return to the studio to clear glaze your pieces.

If you love to see the first leaves unfurl in spring, appreciate summer’s flowers, or have a favorite houseplant - this might be the workshop for you! join Hannah Red to hand-build ceramics based on the garden and nature. This workshop will cover basic hand-building skills, and techniques for observing plants’ shapes, textures, and more. plants, flowers, leaves, branches, and other natural references will be provided 🌱.

Attendees will have the option to fire their piece as is, attach it to a pre-made tile, or students may bring their own leather hard items to attach pieces to.

This class will focus on creating a series of two or more pinched and altered tea cups, mugs or coffee cups, with or without handles.

                                 Students will be given two or three equal sized pieces of clay, then guided through a pinching method  found in Paulus Berensohn's “Finding Ones Way with Clay” text. 

                                 The method is a mindfulness technique in which one can participate in the repetition of the pinching while becoming “one with it”.

                                  The workshop also includes bisque firing and glaze firing after two weeks.
